This volume tells the story of one couples adoption journey. It is mostly a story of their emotional trip and less detailed on the practical details of a China adoption. The story is told largely by Doug Werner with occasional interludes by Kathleen Wheeler. It does do a good job of giving a feel for what a China adoption is like. This book would be quite good for prospective parents who want a quick introduction to the China adoption process. Readers should be warned that the experience of this couple was not always typical, for example they had only two weeks from referral to being on the plane to China! This is a far cry from the more usual 6-10 weeks that most parents wait before travel. This is a useful addition to the growing library of books concerning China adoptions. I would recommend it for people considering China adoptions.
